Fashion Focus Hair Show, Bellevue, Washington
I went to a hair conference in Bellevue, Wa, on April 28-30, 2012. I just got home. I'm so tired but full of great inspiration and ideas for the coming wedding season! I can't wait to try some of these new creations on my brides and bridesmaids. If you want to take a look at some of the photos, please join me on the Facebook page for "Gorge Brides" or "Foils Salon and Day Spa". Thank you so much! I can't wait for summer to come!

2011 Season Recap
2011 Season was great! All of my brides were super sweet. I didn't have any catastrophes, knock on wood! I was super busy from April to the end of October. I also had to squeeze in my own wedding in September. 2011 must have been THE wedding year or there was something in the water we were all drinking.
I worked with many great vendors. Blaine and Bethany Photographers, Mosca Photography, Jim Semlor Photography, Kevin with Columbia Gorge Images, Gorge-us Photography, Freelance Imaging, Celilo Catering, Cork and Bottle Catering, Tammy's Floral, Lucy's Informal Flowers, Gorge Crest Vineyards, Mt. Hood B and B, Mt. Hood Organic Farms, Columbia Gorge Weddings, the list could go on and on, and I may have forgotten someone... We are very fortunate to have so many talented people in the Columbia Gorge Area.
I had my own wedding at Indian Creek Golf Course. We had a very small intimate and casual wedding with only 42 guests made up of my two daughters, close friends and family. We had a really great time. A very special day that I will always remember and cherish.
Divots did my catering and the food was spectacular. Xani at Divots was in charge and did a wonderful job. I did my own flowers and Lucy's Informal flowers was gracious enough to lend me some butcher hooks and vases. I used mainly Dahlias and some sunflowers from my back yard.
Kacie McMakin did my photography. Check out her web-site at http://www.photographyinthemoment.com/ to see some great photos of my wedding. She is a good friend and great photographer, blogger, mom, etc...extraordinaire! She did an awesome job. I got my cake at Rosauers grocery store. Yes, I loved my cake! Shake N'Bake productions was my D.J. and those guys were a ton of fun. I wasn't going to get a D.J. but was so glad I did. They had everyone dancing and we all had a great time.
Oh and I mustn't forget to acknowledge who did my hair and make-up! Well, my girlfriend and co-worker at Foils Salon, Allison, came over and helped me do my daughter's hair and she curled my hair, and then I put my own hair in a loose half up half down and then did my own make-up. I'll be sure to post a photo of my own hair!
It's hard to keep the stress out of such an important day, but as this was mine and my husband's second wedding, we somehow kept the stress as low as possible and had a wonderful time with people we loved.
If anyone is looking for vendors or advice please let me know at Gorgebrides@aol.com as I know a wealth of talented vendors. Also, if you get a chance to check out my facebook page called "Gorge Brides". There are a few more photos posted there. Take care and thank you for looking at my blog.
P.S. - I forgot to mention that Gorge Brides was involved in the 2011 November Fashion Show in Hood River and all proceeds went to The Christmas Project. This is a great charity event that gives food and items to families in need in our area. Some of my brides from 2011 came and modeled for me and sashayed down the runway for a good cause. Photography was by Gorge-us Photography. Thank you so much!

2010 Season
2010 Was a great season, I worked with many beautiful and sweet brides. Everything went smoothly, knock on wood. At the trail run, I try to get all the details of the special day, for example, how many people want services and what time the photographer expects everyone to be ready. It really helps to get all of this information and no one is stressed out. I did bring one or two assistants with me when it was needed and that helped me to stay on schedule also.
I usually go to the venue. I drove all over the gorge from Mt. Hood B & B to Mt. Hood Organic Farms to Gorge Crest Vineyards, and many more...I worked with some fantastic Photographers, Blaine and Bethany, Richard Hallman, Columbia Gorge Images, Jim Semlor, Mosca Photography and Sikora Photography. If you check out some of their websites, you may see some photos of me and my work also.
I'm really excited about the 2011 season. I think it is going to be a great year. THE WEDDING YEAR! Because I am engaged as well and planning my own wedding. Hooray! It's truely been a learning experience for me the last couple of months planning my own wedding. I get to see the wedding business as a bride, instead of as a hairstylist and make-up artist. I'm really getting some great ideas.
I'm looking forward to a great year and being a part of such a great and special day! Send me an e-mail at gorgebrides@aol.com if you are interested in my work or have any questions. Thanks so much for looking at my little blog.
